UGH sports....

NBA

So I didn't post my NBA predictions. Now im not going to. I decided that 10 games in on a Lockout shorten season, its just cheating. But I'll do this. I think Miami is going to win it all this year. I see them winning at least 50 games(the only team that will) and destroying the playoffs. I don't like it. I really don't. But its what I see happening. Moving on.....

NFL

So I went 2-2 this weekend on playoff games. I picked Cincinnati to beat Texas, and you know what? They almost did. I know your thinking that score says otherwise but hear me out. The score was tied 10-10 win and almost half time when J.J. Watt intercepted that pass from Andy Dalton. Total game changer. If that doesn't happen game totally changes. If that drive turns into a touchdown for the Bengals? They win the game. That interception was too much for a young Bengal team to handle. But they will learn from it and get better. The Ravens and Stealers? Getting older every day. I see some good things coming from the Bengals sooner rather than later.

I also picked the Falcons (yes that means I did pick the Broncos) over the Giants. And to be honest for about a quarter I felt pretty good about that
pick. But the Falcons were beat.... by the Falcons. The first Quarter the Falcons D was everywhere on the Giants. They were shooting gaps, shedding blocks, and having team meeting at the ball. What happened? The Falcons offence happened. In my humble opinion the best Defense ever was the Ravens Defense from 00-04. For 5 seasons no defense was ever better. So why did they only win 1 superbowl? Their offence killed their defense. A defense can only keep up so much intensity. If the offence keeps going 3 and outs or turning the ball over the defense can sustain their energy and attack. This happened to the Falcons D against the Giants. They were playing great but they were on the field way too long. When the Giants finally took a lead it was all but over. Falcons sputter defense loses energy. Mike Mularky should have a lot of explaining to do.

PLAYOFFS!?

The NFL regular season is over and post season has begun. So before we look back at the season that was lets make a few picks here.

SATURDAY

CINCINNATI @ HOUSTON

In week 14 The Texans beat the Bengals by 1 point in Cincinnati. The Bengals had a better road record then home record this year. Houston has lost 3 straight.

Cincinnati 24-13 over Houston

DETROIT @ NEW ORLEANS

We have seen this before they say? New Orleans beat Detroit in week 13 they say! Well they are right. And this will be more of the same. That game ended with a 31-17 win for The Saints. Expect much more this time. Think this year's Alamo Bowl.

New Orleans 65-45 over Detroit

ATLANTA @ NY Giants

I’m really hopeful for this game. I make it a point to tell people how much I can stand he who is not to be named(Coaching the Giants). Am I a journalist? Nope. Do I hope Atlanta destroys the Giants? Yes. Do I think they will. Not really. But I do think they win.

Atlanta 34-26 over New York

PITTSBURGH @ DENVER

Pittsburgh should win this game. New Orleans was supposed to win last year @ Seattle. I get the same vibe here. "Pittsburgh is just too good." Well The Stealers are also hurting. Losing their starting RB and a hobbled QB is not the way you want to go to the playoffs. This is my upset special.

Denver 17-14 in OT over Pittsburgh

Tomorrow I’ll take a look back at the year that was, or wasn't depending on your team's perspective.
